What is a Pre-Masters?

A Pre-Masters degree is for foreign students who need to strengthen their English skills or learn thesis, academic writing, and seminar skills before enrolling in a taught master’s program. Pre-Masters programs in the United Kingdom are structured to completely prepare students for postgraduate study.

Courses last anywhere from ten weeks to twelve months and provide a solid foundation for postgraduate research. A Pre-Masters can greatly improve English language and study skills, as well as familiarise international students with UK teaching methods, which are needed for successful postgraduate study.
